Recordbuilds L.L.C. (“Recordbuilds,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates recordbuilds.com, builder.recordbuilds.com, and related pages, products, features, tools, emails, content, community areas, and services, collectively, the “Service.”

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that we collect, use, and disclose information as described in this Privacy Policy.

  • information created through your use of Builder, community, account, profile, and content features;

A) Information You Provide

Account and profile information

If you create an account or profile, we may collect:

  • first and last name, if provided;
  • email address;
  • username;
  • display name;
  • password credentials, which are stored in hashed or similarly protected form by the applicable platform or authentication provider;
  • profile information you choose to add, such as bio, profile image, cover image, location display, social links, and other optional fields.

Builder and community content

If you use Builder or community features, we may collect:

  • build titles and descriptions;
  • selected components and build configurations;
  • custom component entries;
  • setup notes, pricing notes, room notes, and other user-submitted details;
  • preferences such as goals, filters, room type, budget range, and setup type;
  • public, private, draft, temporary, or shared build settings;
  • profile photos, avatars, build images, room photos, and cover images;
  • comments, votes, reactions, tags, forks, badges, rankings, and similar interactions;
  • community submissions, featured build submissions, contest entries, reward submissions, and related materials.

Contact forms and support

If you contact us, submit a form, request support, or send feedback, we may collect:

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • the contents of your message;
  • any attachments, screenshots, URLs, or information you choose to send;
  • information needed to respond to or process your request.

Email signups

If you subscribe to newsletters, product updates, community emails, or similar communications, we may collect:

  • email engagement information, such as opens or clicks, where permitted.

B) Information We Collect Automatically

When you visit or use the Service, we and our service providers may automatically collect information such as:

D) Image Metadata

Please remove embedded metadata and private details that you do not want shared before uploading images. Where technically feasible, we may remove or reduce metadata from uploaded images, but we cannot guarantee that all metadata or private details will be removed from every image.

You should avoid uploading images that show people, children, addresses, mail, IDs, private documents, or anything else you do not want public.

2) Builder Data and Public Build Links

Recordbuilds provides a Builder tool that helps users plan vinyl setups and save, edit, share, publish, and discover builds.

When you use Builder, we may collect and store:

  • selected components such as turntables, speakers, amps, receivers, preamps, furniture, accessories, and related gear;
  • build preferences and filters;
  • build metadata such as titles, descriptions, notes, and visibility settings;
  • build IDs, share links, profile associations, public URLs, and related identifiers;
  • uploaded build images and related image information;
  • engagement data such as votes, comments, forks, badges, rankings, featured placement, and similar interactions.

If you create or share a public build, anyone with access to the public page or link may be able to view that build. Public builds may also appear in community pages, profile pages, setup directories, featured sections, rankings, badges, emails, social media, or similar surfaces connected to the Service.

Please do not include sensitive personal information in build names, notes, custom fields, descriptions, comments, profile text, usernames, or uploaded images.

3) Public Profiles, Public Content, and Community Visibility

Some features of the Service allow you to make content public, including profiles, builds, comments, votes, profile images, cover images, uploaded setup photos, and related community content.

If you choose to make content public, you understand that it may be:

  • visible to other users and visitors;
  • displayed across community pages, public profiles, feeds, featured sections, setup directories, badges, rankings, and similar surfaces;
  • indexed or cached by search engines;
  • viewed, copied, shared, screenshotted, downloaded, or saved by other people;
  • highlighted, reposted, excerpted, screenshotted, featured, or promoted by Recordbuilds in connection with the Service, our emails, our social media, our marketing materials, or the Recordbuilds brand.

Public content should be treated as public. Do not post information you want to keep private or confidential.

4) Analytics, Advertising, and Measurement

We use analytics and measurement tools to understand usage, improve the Service, measure campaign performance, and support growth.

A) Google Analytics and Site Kit

We may use Google Analytics, Google Site Kit, or similar analytics tools to understand things like:

  • page views;
  • user flows;
  • engagement;
  • device and browser patterns;
  • referral sources;
  • conversions and feature usage;
  • content and product interaction performance.

We do not intentionally send personal information such as email addresses, full names, phone numbers, mailing addresses, precise locations, or similar directly identifying information to Google Analytics.

B) Vercel Analytics

We may use Vercel Analytics or similar tools to understand aggregate usage and performance of builder.recordbuilds.com and related features.

C) Advertising and Conversion Measurement

We may use advertising and conversion measurement tools from providers such as Google, Meta, or other advertising platforms in the future or where enabled.

If enabled, these tools may help us:

  • measure campaign performance;
  • understand whether ads lead to visits, signups, product clicks, or other actions;

  • build aggregated insights about what pages, features, or content perform best;

  • Vercel for hosting, deployment, analytics, performance, and infrastructure related to the builder and related pages;
  • Supabase for database, authentication, storage, and backend services;
  • Google Analytics, Google Site Kit, Google Tag, or similar Google tools for analytics and measurement;
  • CookieYes or similar tools for cookie consent and preference management;
  • Amazon Associates and other affiliate programs or partner links for affiliate monetization;
  • Mailchimp or similar email service providers for newsletters, product updates, and email communications;
  • contact form, support, security, monitoring, spam prevention, backup, or logging tools;
  • other vendors that help us operate, protect, or improve the Service.

These providers may process information on our behalf or according to their own terms and privacy policies, depending on the service.

6) How We Use Information

  • provide Builder functionality such as saving builds, generating share links, and displaying public or private builds;
  • provide community features such as profiles, comments, votes, rankings, badges, featured sections, setup directories, and public pages;

  • send service-related messages such as verification emails, password resets, confirmations, moderation notices, security alerts, or feature updates;
  • send newsletters, updates, or marketing communications if you opt in or where otherwise permitted;
  • understand what users find useful and improve site performance, content, recommendations, product data, and user experience;
  • measure campaign, email, affiliate, product, and outbound link performance;
  • prevent spam, fraud, abuse, fake votes, scraping, and suspicious activity;
  • enforce our Terms of Service, community rules, contest rules, and other policies;
  • protect the security, integrity, and reliability of the Service;

7) Affiliate Links and Product Interactions

Recordbuilds participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program, and may earn commissions when users click or buy through links on our site, builder, emails, or related content.

We may collect or receive information about affiliate link clicks, outbound product clicks, referring pages, UTM parameters, and related interaction data. Purchases made through third-party retailers are handled by those retailers, not Recordbuilds. Those retailers may collect information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

8) Email Communications

We may send service-related emails such as:

  • account verification emails;
  • password reset emails;
  • security or login alerts;
  • build-related confirmations;
  • moderation notices;
  • profile or community-related notifications;
  • contest or reward participation notices;
  • support responses.

If you sign up for newsletters, updates, product announcements, or promotional communications, we may also send you marketing emails, featured content, product announcements, community highlights, or similar messages.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email. You may still receive service-related or transactional emails where permitted by law.

We may use third-party email service providers, including Mailchimp or similar services, to send and manage email communications.

9) SMS / Text Messaging

Recordbuilds may offer optional SMS or text messaging features in the future for things like account notices, contest updates, reward notifications, or marketing messages.

If we enable SMS in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy as needed and require appropriate opt-in consent before sending marketing text messages where required.

10) How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money.

D) Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information if we believe doing so is necessary to:

  • enforce our agreements and policies;
  • detect, investigate, or prevent fraud, abuse, security issues, fake voting, scraping, or harmful activity;

  • comments and moderation data, retained to support moderation, spam prevention, and community integrity;
  • analytics, security logs, and diagnostic data, retained for a reasonable period to understand performance and investigate abuse or incidents;
  • email subscription records, retained as needed to manage subscriptions, unsubscribes, and compliance.

If you delete content or close your account, some information may remain in backups, logs, archives, analytics, cached pages, emails already sent, social posts already published, screenshots, or records for a period of time.

13) Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • request correction of inaccurate information;
  • request deletion of personal information, subject to exceptions;
  • request export or a copy of certain information;

14) Deleting Accounts, Builds, Images, or Profile Information

You may request deletion of your account, builds, uploaded images, profile information, or other personal information by contacting:

If you delete a build, unpublish content, or request deletion, we will take reasonable steps to remove or stop displaying applicable content going forward. However, some information may remain in backups, logs, analytics, cached pages, search engine results, emails already sent, social posts already published, screenshots, legal records, or other systems where immediate deletion is not practical.

15) California Privacy Notice

If you are a California resident, you may have rights under California privacy law, including rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain sale or sharing practices, where applicable.

Recordbuilds does not sell personal information for money. However, certain analytics, advertising, or conversion measurement activities may be considered “sharing” under California law depending on how the tools are configured and used.

California residents may also have the right to limit use of certain sensitive personal information where applicable, and to not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.

17) Embedded Content and Third-Party Links

Pages on the Service may include embedded content or links to third-party websites, products, creators, retailers, videos, social platforms, and services.

If you interact with third-party content or click through to another site, that third party may collect information according to its own privacy policy and terms. We are not responsible for third-party privacy or security practices.

18) Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create accounts, submit builds, upload images, or provide personal information.

19) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission over the internet and no method of storage is completely secure.

Because of this, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

20) Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last Updated” date above.

Changes become effective when posted unless a later effective date is stated.
