About Cass
Hi, I’m Cass-welcome to my listening room! I started collecting in 2023 and since then my setup has been all about balance: fitting a lot of records into a small space while still keeping things cozy, not cramped.
I love rotating shelves and a monthly wall display that keeps my room feeling fresh. My shelves are mostly filled with pop, but I’m especially drawn to fun colored and shaped vinyl.

Ask Cass
I’ve always been a huge fan of CDs and getting to hold an album that you love. I love that vinyl is a physically bigger form of physical media and that artists can be even more creative with their art.
I wanted to create a cozy area in my room that didn’t feel too cramped. I love little decorations and knick-knacks, so I am trying to find some more cute trinkets and accessories to add to my setup eventually.
I love colored pressings because they give the artist and their team more creativity to match the album cover or vibes.
I have a few records that I would consider my most prized. My top three are probably Drowning by Jessie Murph, a signed copy of Me Again by Sasha Alex Sloan, and the Lover: Live From Paris by Taylor Swift repress.
“I Hate It Here” by Taylor Swift, because vinyl and my little setup is my version of “the secret gardens in my mind.”
I love being able to see the way that other people create their setups, and I love learning about new music.
I have danced basically my whole life, and my goal is to dance professionally. I love bringing other people’s vision to life. I have always been surrounded by music and have so much appreciation for it. Art in general can make people realize that there are other people in the world going through similar things, and music has always done that for me.
Vinyl has made me focus on smaller things and details more. Like, how intricate some of the packaging is, or picking out a tiny color in the album cover to be the pressing color.
Try not to get caught up in FOMO or what’s trending/not trending. Collect the albums that you like, not the ones everyone else is getting. Obviously, still keep your options open and be open to expanding your music taste if that’s something you like to do, but if you just get an album because it’s popular, then you’re never gonna spin it or truly appreciate it.
Setup Breakdown
Cass’s setup is refreshingly unique – an accessible yet thoughtful listening space
The LP60X is what many consider the gold standard for getting into vinyl, and pairing it with the AT-SP6XBT is a smart way to stay in the Audio-Technica family for speakers.
Where this setup really shines is in the way Cass has masterfully integrated her storage. It fits a lot of records into a small space while keeping things cozy, not cramped, with shelves and a wall display that gets swapped monthly.
