About Boozey Vinyl
Hi, I’m Lisa—welcome to my listening room! I’m a lifelong music junkie who loves vinyl not just for the crackle, but for the connection. I call myself a music lover first, collector second—it’s always been about the music for me. With that being said, vinyl will always be my preference for listening and collecting.
On instagram, I go by Boozey Vinyl. Back in 2018 I had big plans to pair cocktails with albums…until I realized cocktails disappear a lot faster (and cost way more) than records. These days, the drinks are rare but the music is endless.
Thanks for stopping by—kick back and enjoy the tour.

Lisa’s Era of Sound
I think the best era for music was mid 70s thru the 80s. I enjoy funk more than anything (jazz funk, soul funk) Herbie Hancock, Patrice Rushen, Rufus & Chaka Khan, Prince, Stevie Wonder to name a few. My record count now is a little over 700.

Setup Breakdown
Lisa’s setup is classy, polished, and punchy. The glossy Debut EVO 2 takes center stage as the eye-catching centerpiece—one of Pro-Ject’s finest models setting the tone right away. The stack of the Yamaha A-S801 and NAD CD player anchors the system as a sleek, central control station. On custom wood/pvc stands, the Klipsch RP-160Ms unleash their full potential—absolute powerhouses.
This trio nails the hi-fi sweet spot: simplicity, detail, and headroom to spare.

Hunting With Lisa
What I have learned digging through thousands of crates over the years.
“I’ve learned more from digging through crates than from any online guide. Every record store teaches you something new.”

Always Inspect Under the Light

“I once went on a 4 and a half hour road trip to California and hit up a very popular record store. I bought a Blackbyrds album without checking it first. After my long drive home, I found that it wasn’t playable at all. It was warped with a huge scratch! Lesson learned!”
Know Your Pressings
Original pressings sound warmer & hold value.

“Original pressings usually sound warmer and hold more value. Colorful and picture discs look great, but they often come with more surface noise. (For the record: there’s nothing wrong with a quality reissue).”

“As soon as I moved to Vegas, I got familiar with Dave at Vegas Vinyl. He would open up early for me, set aside albums that he knew I’d like, and I always got a great deal on large hauls.”
Timing Is Everything
Be there early—new collections and restocks go fast.

“Get to the record store bright and early on weekends when they put out the week’s best finds. Go on new release day (often Friday) or right after restocks so you get first pick before rare finds are gone. I also like going midday to avoid the crowds.”
Trust Your Ears
Build the collection you love—not just the hyped grails.

“Chase the grails if you want, but the real treasure is building a collection that reflects your taste and the music you truly love.”
